SO WHAZZ UP!

Were you at Orchard last week, spotting us in Reds and Whites on the streets giving out information cards about HIV testing? Along with the other G+ members, we walked from Wisma Atria to Plaza Singapura and back to Orchard again just to spread the message of the importance of HIV tests. Action for AIDS is providing a simple, anonymous and affordable HIV testing (for more information: http://afa.org.sg/mts.php) that benefits anyone who is interested in getting a quick test.

HIV is a virus that causes the immune system to break down, and the underlying cause of AIDS but it does not mean that all HIV-positive individuals have AIDS (it is the last stage of HIV infection).

Even though there has not been a cure developed for HIV currently, advances in medication have allowed HIV-positive individuals to continue living an enriching life.

In order to protect yourself and protect the others, you may want to know more about how HIV is being transmitted and how to prevent it.

Whazz Up!

HIV can be transmitted in 3 main ways:

1) Mother-to-child transmission,

2) Transmission through body fluids (including blood, pre-seminal fluid, vaginal secretions, breast milk)

3) Sexual transmission, Or more specifically: Vaginal sex, anal sex involving either a man or woman, oral sex

Other ways include: Sharing needles, home or unlicensed tattooing or body piercing, accidental needle pricks and blood transfusions. Exposure to other STDs, such as gonorrhea, syphilis, or chlamydia can also increase your risk of contracting HIV.

Consider a Test if:

• The condom broke during sex
• You did not use a condom during sex
• You have multiple sex partners concurrently or over a period of time • You’ve had sex but have never been tested before.

Protect yourself!

• Use a condom for all sexual activities,
• Do not sharing needles
• maintain a monogamous, long-term relationship with a partner who has been tested and found to be free from HIV and abstinence.

(^.^)

Enough with all the information bombard. Hahaha.

Now, a group photo with all the kind bloggers and Jayne! :D

Affordable
The test costs S$30 at the clinic, located at 31 Kelantan Lane #01-15 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30PM-8:15PM and on Saturdays at 1:30PM- 3:15PM. Forex Trading with GK GOH FX

[advertorial]

Yeah, you didn’t read wrongly!

I have been “playing” with Forex Trading for this whole month after the crash course at GK GOH FX with Nuffnang bloggers. I lost quite a bit but fret not, I am not burning my fingers since I am dealing with “fake” money in this case.

I am never a fan of numbers and finance, which explains why I am an art student instead of a business or banking & finance enthusiast. You can also say that I have difficulty concentrating on the bullish and bearish candles Forex Trading talk which leads me to the downfall of my fake money account. =.=”

Even the useful stack of notes that could help me with winning money were hypnotizing… haha. I am probably going to be a poor lady for the rest of my life since my interest in money is so… un-motivating. :P

Nonetheless, believe it or not~ I really love “playing” with Forex Trading System!

Being a visually inclined person, when I see the up and down lines on the graph, it actually excites me a lot!

It is fun overall, since I am not playing with my own (real) money! Hahaha. Because I tend to lose quite a bit.

Some tips for everyone who is interested in Forex Trading:

1) Do your research, eg. read more news of different countries, especially those that you want to invest your money in their currency.

2) Study the graphs. There’s actually patterns that you can note that how it will go up or down, I learned this at GK GOH FX.

3) 見好就收 <- don’t be greedy! If you earned quite a bit already, remember to stop because you will NEVER win EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Toastbox Special Promotions!

[advertorial]

Toastbox never fails to amaze me with their dreamy interior design and pretty decorations with a touch of traditional feel. The best way for a restaurant/store to capture a lady’s heart? Be pretty! :D

Anyway, I am really happy to blog for Toastbox newest promotions since part of the profits will be donated to charity! Aren’t you glad? Eat good food and do some charity at the same time, isn’t this best of both worlds?

You are in luck today! I am going to introduce 8 delicious products from Toastbox that you shouldn’t miss out because you won’t even be able to find some of the dishes in other stores, their tastes are solely for Toastbox.

Firstly, Mango Aloe Vera!

I ADORE THIS DRINK! Tasty mango and aloe vera bits and the portion is so big that it successfully quench my thirst and fulfill my needs of yummy fruits & sweets at the same time.

Life can’t be more awesome! *feeling super blessed*

There’s 2 choices of drinks: Mango Aloe Vera and Pepsi Calamansi. Mango Aloe Vera is sweeter while the Pepsi Calamansi is more refreshing.

Hei Bi Hiam Toast, one of my favourite toasts. Spicy and savory! Unlike other thick toast, it is toasted both sides (top and bottom) and cut into 3 slices instead of 9 pieces. By the way, hei bi hiam means dried spicy shrimps.

Otah Thick Toast, yummy and yummy! One thing I love about Toastbox is they really retained the traditional tastes of Singapore with their creativity. See the leaf in the picture? It is used to cover the Otah Thick Toast (like a real otah) so that when you lift it up, the aroma spreads around you and leave you in heavens.

Tom Yum Garlic Thick Toast, something like the awesome garlic bread from Breadtalk (by the way, Toastbox is under Breadtalk. Which explains why their toasts are so yummy right? ^^) with Tom Yum taste. Quite unique, I would say.

Yup, if we were talking about Breadtalk, we shouldn’t miss this dish out! Pork Floss Thick Toast is your best choice!

Now, this is another one that I thought it is pretty unique in terms of taste. Just when I thought this is just a normal toast that we usually eat at coffeeshops, Butter Milk Thick Toast is way cooler than that. It has this sweetness and thin biscuit-like top surface that is so unique that I can’t forget how it taste like!

By the way, the desserts are a must-try! Peanut Butter + Coffee + Kaya Icecream thick toast. This is super delicious and only unique to Toastbox! I love their ice-cream! Especially the peanut butter flavor which has peanut bits in it too. :3

*dancing around in bliss* Heavenly taste~

The adorable Toastbox staff would help you to mix and match toppings depending on which flavors of icecream that you would love to try. Of course, you can choose the toppings yourself too if you want.

So what are you waiting for?

Go to your nearest Toastbox branch and get your favourite set meal and do some charity at the same time! :D

From 1-31 July 2011, Toast Box will be donating $0.10 to a charity organisation (Abilities Beyond Limitations & Expectations)for every first 4 new products sold. To celebrate the Singapore Food Festival, Toastbox is also offering promotional prices listed below.
