10.10.10 We are not perfect

10 October 2010, it is supposed to be “just another day” in life but why are so many people being so hyped up about the date? Wedding bells ring; gentlemen dressed in suits; ladies dressed in their dream wedding gown. Is it just because it is a date that is so memorable or do they have a special reason to do so? Nevertheless, it is a day of celebration; happiness and love. :)

Poverty tells many stories…

The reason why I am always on Twitter or Facebook rather than MSN now is because… I find all my inspirations around these places and here it is one of the examples: a short movie of a poor boy’s rich story.

I don’t know whether I should feel sad for this boy because of his life is being depicted in his own “lies” or I should feel sorry that these children do not actually know what life is all about. Why at the end of the boy’s story, the girl said,

“You liar. It’s not possible to have such a nice day.”

My heart just sinks when I heard that. Children, the supposedly most-happy-and-carefree & believe-what-it-is-said-it-is, actually thinks that it is not possible to have such a nice day. I don’t know, what happened to the innocence and the ever-believing kids? I want them back. Kids who love fairy-tales (in my opinion) lives happier and are more adorable because of their innocent smiles and dreams.

Maybe I should not put the words of the boy’s story into the category of “lies”, I think a better word for this is… imaginative. He would be a great storyteller and a visionary in the future, with his talents and maybe a little of optimism, he could create great fantasies for the not-so-talented people. Poverty tells a lot of stories, so does imagination.

Unleash your imagination, you know you love it. Don’t be afraid that you will be laughed at, because it simply just means people fear for your ingenious ideas and when they fear, they reject. :)

Love Life. Embrace your imagination.

My Top 10 fondest memories of Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games

[advertorial]

Howdy! Now that YOG has officially ended, have you had your fun from it? What do YOU remember about YOG? I knew I had a lot of fun participating in YOG events as a blogger! How about you?

As the title suggested, here’s my top 10 fondest memories of our very first Singapore 2010 Youth Olympics Games:

Samsumg Human Torch

It was my very first involvement in actual event of Youth Olympic Games and thanks to Samsung, I got the chance to witness the fiery passionate volunteers of Samsung Human Torch lighting up the place, like how our dazzling youth shine. :)

Merly & Lyo

And I even saw the 2 adorable mascots of our Singapore 2010 YOG! Aren’t they cute? I just feel like hugging both of them back home! Well, most people did… which leads to “The Disappearance of Merly” in most YOG retail stores (see video here)!

City Celebrations @ Marina

MY VVIP PASS TO CITY CELEBRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome, right? I get to watch the super popular KPOP groups like B2ST & 4MINUTE (Hyunah is damn cute! :3) at YOG Concert!!!!! Hello? What kind of events will give you this superb chance to be seated at the VVIP area and watch these pretty boys and girls on stage dancing? Samsung simply rocks to max to have brought in these 2 groups!

VISA Prepaid Card

This served as my ticket to the YOG Opening Ceremony 2010 at The Float @ Marina and is also serving as my ez-link card for now! It’s really considerate and thoughtful of the organizers to create such a ticket which has multiple uses like 1) Ticket, 2) EZ-link, 3) VISA and even for 4) ERP. The coolest part? FREE unlimited bus rides & 4 MRT rides on the Opening Ceremony day itself! And from what I know, ALL the YOG game tickets are created in the same format. It’s just super awesome, and I know a friend who has at least 2 to 3 tickets like this! Great to know that there’s enthusiastic fans of Singapore YOG. :)

Singapore Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony

One of the most beautiful scene that I have ever seen – the lighting of Olympian Cauldron. This is really the “WOW” factor of the whole ceremony, along with the numerous fireworks, that you must really watch it once in your lifetime. I am glad that I am involved in this ceremony too. :)

These volunteers are the ones that are keeping up the energy and enthusiasm among the crowd! Thank you for your energetic smiles and welcome! You guys are awesome!

Torchbearers

So proud of those torch bearers! I know being one means a lot of each and every one of you! A sincere wish that all of you will engrave an exciting pathway through your athletic life.

Being part of the YOG Bloggers

Thanks to Samsung Mobile Singapore to give me a chance to be part of the YOG and get to know the other awesome bloggers like Fidelis, Noel and so on… And also the great chance to be involved in numerous events like the City Celebrations @ Marina, the Opening Ceremony and so on…

Life without Limbs

Nick Vujicic, his life without limbs since he was born. His mom didn’t even want to carry or breast-feed him at all when she knew that her child has no arms nor legs.

You are a miracle, not to world but definitely the miracle of someone’s life. You are a miracle.
