Antoinette @ Mandarin Gallery
This is like… 2 or 3 months ago (which explains why my hair looks like grass. lol), which when we started to meet up for brunch or hi-tea (because of Huka’s obsession
). Hahahaha.
I am missing the breakfast/brunch sets there! So yummy!
Eggs and more eggs plus the meat and bread! <3
Super nice (but atas) ambience there by the way.
[Food] Hyang-To-Gol Buffet
Yay! I love Korean Barbeque! Yay for Sue who invited me and thanks to Noel, we get to eat it at a better price too. Wahahaha.
Funny that after the dinner, I got to know they actually thought I was pissed with them or something which is obviously not true. I am so nice lor *flips hair* HAHAHAHAHA. I just tend to stone a lot after meals. You know that kind of feeling where you just want to carry your full stomach and go to sleep? Which is why I didn’t talk much too.
So anyway, the food was great but I wouldn’t call it Korean Charcoal Barbeque if we could not cook the bulgogi on our own. I love the BULGOGI they cooked!!! SO JUICY AND YUMMY! Oh, and they have sushi and some Chinese cuisine too (sounds international huh?). <3
Most importantly, YOU HAVE TO BOOK SEATS BEFORE GOING or else be prepared to sit outdoors (not that it is a bad thing because the view is great) eat and be eaten! By mosquitoes. Gosh, ain’t they brutal. Both my legs had at least 6 mosquitoes bites each. -.-
Located at Resort World Sentosa, Waterfront, which means we can watch the 2-swans-spraying-water show! LOL! Okok, I am just being lame because I don’t know the real name of that show but it was quite fascinating how they create such art piece.
Last but not least, I love the fireworks that day even though I didn’t manage to snap any decent photos of it. *sad face*

Food Rave! @ ION Orchard basement
THIS IS SUPER HUMONGOUS!
We ordered the Grand Slam (S$18.50) to share and yes, it is REALLY GIGANTIC. That’s if you are the only one eating it. XD
Share with your friends and it is definitely more worth it than their usual Pork Katsu Curry (see the menu here) that costs $12.50.
The curry was a little different than I expected despite the dark color of it could have told me that it was not like the normal Japanese Vegetables curry (which I adore a lot~). Not the sweet curry taste and it has this sticky texture together with the rice (according to their website, the Japanese usually eat Go! Go! Curry! with their forks, maybe that’s why the rice is more sticky?), more on the salty spicy type.
There is pork katsu, eggs and sausages with sliced vegetables, two portion each. Plus one shrimp (don’t ask me why there is only one, maybe it is the most delicious one among the all?
). You can choose to add toppings like cheese or even the shrimp or even CURRY!
We were so full after eating this! <3
Overall, I like it but not crazy over it. Worth the price and it is really fun to eat one big plate together. Hahaha. The joy of sharing.
Last year, when my cousin recommended this ice-cream store at Clarke Quay, I had been a fan of sorbets from Haato & Co. ever since.
Found their branch at ION Orchard and boy, there is almost no space available to eat inside. Too popular or just the peak lunch/dinner hour? So anyway, this is Chocolate Banana Waffles, “Crispy waffle topped with chocolate bits, banana & almond caramel chips. Drizzled with homemade chocolate sauce, spray whipped cream & topped with a scoop of French Vanilla Gelato”
Delicious! Nothing too special but I love the warm waffle! Thick but not over-floury. It tastes so good with the ice-cream and banana slices and most of all, it does not makes me feel guilty! Aiya, okokok… I don’t feel any guiltiness at any point of time when I am eating. HAHAHAHAHA. *pats fat tummy*
I LOVE TAKOYAKI. <3
Gindaco’s tako balls are just heavenly. I would buy this most of the time if I were with my friends, eating at ION Orchard. If you loved the normal tako balls at shopping centres (there’s one at Plaza Singapura but the standard dropped like mad
), YOU MUST TRY GINDACO’S TAKOYAKI!!! IT IS BEYOND WORDS TO TELL YOU HOW AWESOME THIS IS and it is sooooooooooo much better than normal tako balls.
Oh, but for those who don’t like octopus, you can take out the fillings. I swear, it is still really delicious! <3
*stomach growling* I feel like teleporting one box of takoyaki from ION now.
[Food Review] Hard Rock Cafe
Special thanks to Andy from Sengkangbabies to invite us to an awesome lunch over at Hard Rock Cafe!
It was my first time at Hard Rock Cafe and I really love the atmosphere there, though it is a little dark (so you can’t get good photos if you don’t a good flash. Hahahaha). Most of the food that the staff introduced to us were pretty good, my favourite must be the chili crab dip and the brownie!!! <3
My favourite appetizer: Chili Crab Dip.
The fried buns really matches well with the dip (it is made of real CRABS! And yes, I asked the staff a stupid question of whether the dip is made out of real crabs or crab sticks. LOL!)
So surprised to find Char Kway Tiao at HRC and it is surprisingly decent. Nice
THE BROWNIE IS REALLY DAMN BLARDY GOOD! It practically melts in my mouth when it is being eaten with the ice-cream. The brownie alone has this crispy and chocolate-ly crunch that I really adore~ So yummy!!!
The serving is really big too so for those dessert lovers, this brownie is a must try!
Bloggers at work. Hahaha.

[Food Tasting] Sweet Spring @ NEX
Yay! Another food tasting~ MWHAHAHAHA!
This time round, we were invited to Sweet Spring 糖水春 at NEX Shopping Centre (nearest MRT station: Serangoon). It is like a Hong Kong cafe (cleaner and with air-con, of course) with food like dim sum, snow ice and etc. in their menu. So if you loved trying out Hong Kong delicacies, you might want to check this out too. They have outlets at AMK Hub and myVillage too.
This is called Soy-dol (image above) and according to the staff, it is chendol but with soya milk instead. Interesting. It is like the whole world is changing milk to soya milk.
I am not a big fan of chendol but I do like to try out new things, like this Soy-Dol, which are strongly recommended/most popular in the store. Do try it out if you love sweet drinks + dessert together. It is a mixture of both since there’s chendol at the bottom, red beans on top in this ice blended drink .
There are authentic soya milk and beancurd at Sweet Spring too. What I mean by authentic is their soya milk and beancurd is absolutely bland without honey or any other syrups. Super cool! I don’t even know where to find such things any more ever since there’s pudding beancurd rave in Singapore. Add how ever much of syrup you want to your liking, make it sweet or make it healthy, it’s your choice and I love that idea.
Beancurd skin roll was not really my type. But it’s okay, here’s some of my favourite dishes and snacks!
Their chicken bites are absolutely delicious!!! It’s a must-try! I can’t stop popping them into my mouth while waiting for the other dishes to come. Kinda different from Shih Lin Chicken Cutlet, and it is actually better than that since the meat is actually more tender. One downside of it is the skin that is clothed with too much flour. Nonetheless, MY FAVOURITE!!! <3
Beef Cubes steam rice is actually quite spicy despite its looks and its name. The beef curry spices tasted a tad too strong but for those who like savory food, you could try this out if you want. I personally like the Minced Meat steam rice instead.
Minced meat steam rice is, well duh~, with minced meat and salted egg yolk. Very appetizing!
Oh this spare ribs noodles… interesting dish. Tender meat and deliciou soup base but bland noodles. Hmmm… I wonder why. Anyway! It is a really big portion so I guess guys with a large appetite would love this!
Spicy fish steam rice! As funny as it might sound, this is not as spicy as the Beef Cubes steam rice! It is not even the spicy kind of spicy, if you know what I mean. *insert confused face* Hahaha. The fish is really really really good and appetizing. Very soft and tender, unlike the usual deep fried fish fillets. This is also a must-try if you want to taste something different than normal dishes!
MY LOVE MY LOVE MY LOVE!!! GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can eat this all day!
This Strawberry and Mango Snow Ice is so heavenly! But for those who are lactose intolerant, sorry~ This dessert is filled with milk. It tastes like strawberry milk and mango ice-cream. Saturated taste and definitely worth your money to try this instead of diluted snow ice at other places! I love the strawberry and mango fruit toppings with sauce. NOMS! <3
Lychee Snow Ice, different from the former, it is more refreshing and with a much more delicate taste. I love this too!
Mango with pomelo sago is another interesting dessert. Being the really retarded me, my first spoonful was filled with pomelo and little mango pudding (or paste, since it taste more sticky) so it was really sour. I do like this dessert with more mango bites and sago bits more than the pomelo though. ^^
Yam Paste. Ahhh… No… I am not a yam paste’s fan, neither am I a gourmet who ate all sorts of yam paste. I think the only yam dessert that I like was the salted yam paste that I ate at a wedding a long time ago, which no one believes me that there’s salty yam paste.
Nonetheless, this yam paste is good enough for a snack. I think it really tastes good with the pumpkin paste. Quite nice~
OMGWTHBBQ!!! Where to find such old school beancurd now in a shopping centre?! SO COOL! Okay, this bucket is actually for 2 pax portion so it is really huge! But I like! mwhahaha~
Same as the soya milk, add all the syrup you want and eat to your heart’s content. One of the highlights of the food tasting! Hahaha.
