I was so excited when I first received an email about KöH Lamp and guess what, here’s a review of this super funky designed lamp.
Surprised at how amazingly light the box is.
Interesting, isn’t it? At first I was puzzled with how to assemble the light until the moment I saw the essentials. I don’t even need a manual, haha! Smart girl~~~ <- self-praise.
Anyway, this is really easy! Just screw the light bulb into the connector, it will look like the picture below. The next, which is also the last, step is to screw the connector into the hole at the side of the KöH Lamp.

And after assembling (I promise it will only take you 5 to 10 minutes to do this), it will look like this (image below):
Magnificent, isn’t it? Who would have thought that a water container could transform into such beautiful lights?
If you are wondering how did this design comes from, here’s what I have read about KöH Concepts and their very first home design product - KöH Lamp:
“The concept of the KŌH Lamp was inspired during a trip to a village in Africa. Each night, the villagers would gather around the campfire to discuss their days. To set the mood, they would place light bulbs inside coloured canisters to create complementary lighting. Paired together with the warm glow of the fire, this created a soothing backdrop for friends and family to come together and catch up.
“I was reminded and touched how something basic like a campfire was able to bring people together and encourage them to connect. This inspired me to take another basic item – the plastic container – to create a source of light that could transform atmospheres and remind people about the importance of interdependence even in our busy and modern lifestyles, and enable them to reconnect around the primal fire,” said Christophe d’Orey, Designer and CEO of KŌH Concepts.“
I find it inspiring, how an everyday object could become something that connects friends and family and I believe that is the main concept of KöH Lamp. Moreover, it is such a mood-setter that is suitable for almost any kind of situation that enables everyone to feel relax and connected.
Tried out different positions and I really love the effect of how the light emits and bounce to the ground and then bounces right back out. It is just fascinating to see how light works sometimes, especially when you have such an interesting design. I would never have thought that water containers, despite their thick layer of plastic, could emit such strong yet peaceful light. If you are looking for more vibrant colors, KŌH Lamp is offered in eight shades – Lime green, orange, magenta, purple, lagoon, blue, bamboo green and green.
