Staycation @ Capri by Fraser

Thanks to the generosity of Frasers Hospitality, my friend and I had a really wonderful 3D2N staycation at the new hotel residence called Capri by Fraser. Special shout out to Janice for making this happen and Shi Lin who gave a great introduction of the hotel too! Thank you ladies, lovely to meet you both that day. :D

Located right behind Changi City Point (nearest MRT station is Expo), Capri by Fraser is so convenient and accessible for tourists who are tech-savvy and enjoy relaxing at a home-like place. I would strongly suggest overseas fans who come to Singapore for concerts at The Max Pavilion or other concert halls at Expo to consider staying at Capri by Fraser too. The reason is really simple because it is so near to the concert halls! Plus the facilities provided are great. If you miss home-cooked food, just get down to the super market at Changi City Point to get some ingredients and whip something out with the kitchenette provided in the hotel. Last but not least, I have to give my thanks to all the staff in Capri by Fraser who have been so wonderful, friendly and service-oriented. I promise you guys that they have the best service I have ever seen in Singapore, I simply love their smiles and readiness to help!

I can go on and on and spazz about this place but long story short, it is just a great experience! You guys can check out ExploreLah‘s blog post about it too, travel bloggers are truly amazing when it comes to taking great photos and giving a really detailed description.

At the launch party with Capri By Fraser organized for Facebook fans. Do check out their facebook page for more updates. I believe they have some promotions going on now, which you can find more information here.

Brought my crazy buddy, Ari to the staycation. Too bad Mia wasn’t able to tag along though!

Anyway, I wanted to hard-sell her on my blog but I guess it is easier to shout out to her online boutique, She Represents. Their Aztec collection is already launched, go take a look if you like similar designs.

Cute guy alert! hahaha. Actually, I was just damn amazed by his beat-boxing skills when he performed at the party.

Felix Zenger, beatboxer/musician from Finland who is currently doing gigs all around the world now.

About Capri by Fraser

Capri by Fraser is urban inspired, high-tech and intuitive to cater to the lifestyle needs of the digital generation, offering fast and free Wi-Fi throughout the property, iPad-activated check-ins, ePrint facilities, an interactive eConcierge, and iPod docking stations in every room. This vibe is also reflected in the design of its free-flowing public areas that evolve into expanded social living spaces and the clever layout of its rooms to accommodate a spacious bathroom, a walk-in wardrobe, kitchenette and work space. Amenities include a 24-hour gym, outdoor pool with a state-of-the-art hydro treadmill (also a first in Singapore hospitality), steam and sauna facilities, private soak suites, and a range of dining options including the pool bar, a deli and an all-day-dining restaurant.
One of the main highlights is that in addition to a range of dining options and laundry services the hotel residence provides, guests will now have the option of cooking their own meals and doing their own laundry anytime they want — kitchenettes are available in every room and, unique self-service laundrettes that include host of entertainment activities such as Xbox Kinect, foosball, and TRX training to keep guests occupied in between spin cycles, are available on every floor.

Shi Lin is introducing the interactive concierge wall that you can navigate your way in and out of the hotel.

The Pod

The seats/beds look so comfortable to sleep in! I will probably read a book and laze around there if we had more time there.

Come to think of it, we should have gone there to look for random strangers to chit chat. It probably would be really interesting. Hahaha.

One of the art installation at The Pod - ’Passing with Flying Color’ by Russian artist, David Kracov.

Really pretty, isn’t it? The flow of it feels like the butterflies are really moving. O_O

Are you a business traveller? Need a meeting room? No worries, you can do it in the conference room (there’s two provided) right beside The Pod.

Not enough sockets or your cable is too short but you need to move around? No worries, play around with the detachable plugs on the conference table. Cables can’t be more flexible. ;)

Hot Spot

Surf the net, print, fax or do whatever you need with a computer. Two iMacs are ready for your usage with no time limit at all.

Delite

Delite serves salads, drinks and desserts from 7AM to 10PM.

The desserts.

Delite is directly connected to Caprilicious.

Brownie with Ice Cream <3

Caprilicious

Caprilicious is one of the dining restaurants in the hotel, managed by the hotel itself.

Not exactly the best Redang but passable.

Agio Olio.

Fries

Drinx

Need a drink? Feel free to get down to Drinx at level one.

Every Monday to Friday, from 6pm to 7pm at Drinx lobby bar, complimentary free flow of drinks are available to registered guests while walk-in guests can also enjoy free flow of drinks during happy hour by paying $20 only.

Another art installation that caught my eye, ‘Men on the Road’, the 198 handmade clay figurines called Bo-Man by Belgian artist Daisy Boman.

Depicting the equality and neutrality of race and class.

Studio Grand

Want to watch TV on your bed but the television is not facing you? No problem. ;)

What’s special about Studio Grand is not its size but the design with a balcony. Ain’t it relaxing to just hang around at a big balcony, sleeping on a comfortable bed-like hammock? :)

Only Studio Grand provides a bathtub while the other rooms provide two different types of shower heads.

The Kitchen with coffeemaker provided.

Studio Superior

Anyway, we got ourselves a twin sharing room which had a pretty view of the pool right by our windows. :D

Frowning at her mess. lol.

Heard that Malin + Goetz is pretty expensive but Capri is quite generous to provide from body wash to moisturizer, shampoo to conditioner. At the end of the day, you can also take them home if you like it.

Even iron board is provided. <3

What’s so smart about this safe is the socket inside that could charge your gadgets safely while you are out.

Pretty considerate point of view from the hotel, two thumbs up.

Ari sure make use of the facilities in the room damn well. Busy ironing the romper from She Represents before we go out to buy groceries.

Almost went out with the indoor slippers provided in the room itself. Too comfortable! It even has a thickness of cushion that feels even more comfortable than a regular pair of slippers.

Well, they are meant for indoors for a reason.

The romper from She Represents actually looks good in a supermarket, right? LOL!

I know nuts about cooking so the chef of the day just settled the groceries while I took photos.

Went back to the room and start finding all the pots to cook and it was quite funny when we had to cut the carrots using the dining knife.

For your information: You can request for knives or any tools needed from the hotel. They just kept it for safety reasons.

Ta-da~ Chef Ari’s home-cooked lunch! Healthy chicken soup and Kraft’s Mac & Cheese.

Treat Suite

Located at the same level as the swimming pool (level 2), Treat Suite provides services like spa, steam & sauna, pool and gym. Of course, restrooms and changing room are also provided within the area.

Get a relaxing spa/massage session with the Balinese style.

Equipments at the gym are open for guests’ use.

Swimming Pool

An open air swimming pool where you can see the beautiful surroundings.

JUMP! SPLASH~

I had been getting a lot of comments of how cool this underwater treadmill is and kids simply love to play it too. Interesting find in the pool. Haha.

Don’t see Ari’s crazy expression, my friend here is naturally goofy like that, this treadmill is pretty easy to operate and safe for use.

Tried to take multiple shots with the timer but this is the barely decent ones that I can find. Haha. Oh boy.

Turning into a water monster after swimming. lol.

While waiting for your laundry to be done, you know what you can do in Spin & Play room? PLAY DUH~

Chose the Kinect/Xbox room at level 5 (every level has a different gaming gadget), borrow Street fighter from the counter at level one, where you can also borrow DVDs for movies and rent bicycles for commuting around Singapore too.

The controller had some problems so we had to call the staff up for help.

Sometimes, having glitches in the facilities is a good thing. You get to know how good the service is and I am really thankful for the tremendous effort from the friendly staff to fix the xbox. Smiley, friendly and focus on their work. *applause* Because I know how electronic gadgets can drive people crazy sometimes. :/

I love to press random buttons but apparently I can’t win with randomness. lol.

And so, our night is filled with button pressing and kicking each other ass on video games on a Saturday night.

From this to….

this. HAHAHAHA!

BAZINGA! *GRINS*

Bye Capri by Fraser, I will miss you.

Great for Business travelers and family staycation

With all the conference room, tech gadgets, services and its strategical location (near the airport and the train station), it is really convenient to move about for business travelers. Sure you are going to be delighted to find fast and free Wi-Fi throughout the property, easy check-ins with iPad, ePrint facilities and iPod docking stations in every room. You can work anywhere and everywhere in the hotel as you want.

Airport Shuttle is provided from 6AM to 1AM daily.

For family, it would be even easier if you just want a break from the busy working life to bring your kids out to have fun but cannot afford to go overseas. The 3D2N in Capri by Fraser makes me realize that quite a few families brought their kids there for staycation/vacation. You see kids running around the pool and families eating at Caprilicious for breakfast. Parents could also find some time to play with the kids with all the gadgets in Spin & Play room, it is always good to be young at heart in order to interact with kids, right? :D

P/S: The first thing that happened when I entered the hotel was having a staff who readily offered to carry my luggage while I check in, which really brings a smile to my face. The cleaning auntie for our room for being so helpful to help us with the cooking tools. And the staff at Caprilious who patiently answered to all our orders with readily refills of water. Kudos to all of them!

Especially in a good quality hotel, the customer service is one of the most important factors that I would look for as compared to other things like the facilities. It is always the “people” who can bring people together and determine the comfort level of the guests and I believe that Capri by Fraser did a great job in this area. It is the small details that their staff look at that makes me feel really awed by their services.

P/P/S: I really think you guys need to read ExploreLah‘s entry to get a better knowledge of the surrounding buildings too. Mine is a little nonsensical with our craziness if you have survived throughout this long post to notice it. Hahaha.

  1. Even though this was a sponsored stay (do correct me if I’m wrong), I actually loveit that your blog post was so personal, especially with the cooking part. I, too, think that customer is very important – in fact, the most important aspect, when it comes to a hotel/resort. Many times, the devil is in the details.

    Good job! Keep blogging!
