I don’t know whether it will sound superficial if I don’t blog about poverty, environmental issues, financial crisis or racism on a global level but I hope to remain true to my thoughts and blog’s motto of “positive living”.
Nonetheless, I was watching Felix Baumgartner’s freefall from 128k high and I was (still am) completely amazed by how “they” did it.
(official website: http://www.redbullstratos.com/)
Supported by a team of experts, Felix will ascend in a helium balloon to an altitude of 120,000 ft / 36,576 m where he will take a leap of faith into the unknown in an attempt to become the first person to break the speed of sound during freefall.
You know the beauty of having a team is when everyone works so hard and put in so much effort into a project just to make it work? When you succeed, everyone cheers with you. Let’s say if there’s 1000 people working on it, you would have 1000 times more happiness happening at the same time, cheering for the same thing, feeling the burning passion and satisfaction with every single one of your co-workers. Simply beautiful moment.
The breathtaking moment when he jumps off and the reassuring cheer when we all witnessed him landing safely are really nerve-wrecking. Boy, these people sure are nuts (I love crazy people like this)! But they are bloody good at what they do. Thanks goodness that the weather is on their side too!
As much as I respect the bravery of Felix Baumgartner to jump off from an altitude that is so near to space (they called it “space’s edge” but how could the universe space has any edges :/), I actually cheered more when I saw the anxious looks on the team. It would be for all the effort that the team puts in to make the freefall so successful too. From testing the balloons to ensuring the safety to analyzing the best possible weather to do this to every single little details.
I urge everyone to watch the videos over at Red Bull Stratos 2012 (thanks to Redbull, we could witness this tremendously awesome event worldwide) youtube channel if you need some fuel; some passion; some awe-worthy information in your life.
There is simply so much we could do together, as “our power of we”! Make your life worthwhile, do the things you love and make sure you do it together with crazy people who would go all means to make it succeed. That’s the spirit that we all should have!
If you feel strongly about poverty or any global issues, go ahead and help! Donate, volunteer, do whatever you can because as what I know, there are many great people who are doing all these right now to make the world a better place. We could all do this together, and it doesn’t even matter how little you could do as long as you do something good. Go go go! Fuel up!
