When do you think you should start using anti-aging products?
What do you think?
Initially, I thought the most appropriate age would be around 25-year-old since our metabolism will deteriorate and also lose collagen in our skin at that age. And how wrong could I be?
So last week, RynaQUE and I were at KINERASE event (Valerie from http://dweam.com/ was there too! She’s so charismatic in person~) and it was really thoughtful that they invited Dr. Sim Kwang Chuor from Aesthetic Works Medical Associates to give us a skin analysis and clear the myths and questions about skincare products, especially the anti-aging range.
So the question was “When do you think you should start using anti-aging products?”
*drum rolls*
AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE! :D
The doctor actually recommends us to start around 15- to 16-year-old, which I was totally surprised about the young age!
But it actually makes sense, since we all have skin problems during puberty and you have to take extra care of your skin so that you will not look like the surface of orange skin.

KINERASE has a full range of products from cleanser, toner (I simply love the hydrating mist!), moisturizing cream/lotion, eye cream and C6 Peptide to tackle the problems of aging. Most importantly, KINERASE is specially designed for Asian skin types.
KINERASE is exclusively available at dermatologist and aesthetic clinics.

Aging is inevitable, we all get old but how do you know when your skin needs anti-aging products?
- Visible wrinkles
- Skin color (turns dull)
- Skin texture (not as “bouncy” as before)
- Pigmentation (spots and uneven skin tones)
According to KINERASE, it takes around 4 weeks to see visible results. I have only used the products for around a week so I shall reserve my judgements on the results.
Step 1: Cleansing - KINERASE Gentle Daily Cleanser
Texture:
Rich and thick. Gentle on the skin (no irritations).
Smell:
Fragrance-free; mild chemical smell (I can’t figure out what it is but I don’t hate it, it’s so mild anyway)
My verdict:
I like how gentle it feels to cleanse my face with this. It produces a reasonable amount of foam and cleanses pretty cleanly. No irritation or discomfort. My blackhead and pores doesn’t seem to improve though. :(
Step 2: Toning – KINERASE Hydrating Antioxidant Mist
Texture:
Fine and moisturizing
Smell:
Fragrance-free; no smell at all
My verdict:
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
Not only it serves as a toner, but also a hydrating mist which I could use during the day when I feel that my skin needs to be re-hydrated without applying thick creams or lotion (who knows whether there will be dirt particles on your face and you still rub the cream on right? This is just my little OCD over my facial cleanliness :P). So fun to spray spray spray!
Oh, the reason why this is hydrating is because it contains Kinetin (N6-furfuryladenine), found in plants, that is a bio growth factor that prevents plant leaves from drying out and withering.
Cool right? *wriggle eyebrows* Haha.
Step 3: Treat & Repair – C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment
Texture:
Really thick and creamy.
Smell:
Fragrance-free; has a mild chemical smell like the cleanser
My verdict:
Maybe it because it contains the most Kinetin among the 6 products (so that it can improves the condition of your fine lines/wrinkles and also improves the skin condition), it is really really REALLY thick. Definitely moisturizing, even though I feel a little burdened about the heavy feel on my face when I first used it. Despite the thickness, it absorbs really well into my skin and like all the others, it does not cause any irritation or discomfort.
I wonder if I could just replace this product to be my moisturizer cream/lotion so that I can skip a few skincare steps (since I am so lazy).
Step 4: Treat & Repair – Eye Cream
Texture:
Thick but feels light on skin
Smell:
Fragrance-free of course
My verdict:
Hmmm… Actually I don’t really feel any difference before and after using the eye cream. I know it is moisturizing because of its texture, but I am quite an unhealthy late sleeper so my dark eye circles are always there no matter how much cream I put on. I do have little wrinkles around the eye circles, but like I said… it takes 4 weeks to see visible results so I shall reserve my judgement of this eye cream till then! :)
P/S: I don’t know why but my eye area will feel a little itch and makes my eyes uncomfortable. It might be due to how I put the cream (I think I put too near).
Edited: Actually after 2 to 3 weeks of using this everyday, I can feel the area under my eyes have been less sunken! Love this eye creme!
Step 5: Moisturizing
Texture:
Super rich and thick but not creamy
Smell:
Fragrance-free, normal lotion/cream smell
My verdict:
I prefer the lighter texture of lotion so I have only been using that since it feels really rich on my skin, more than enough actually. It might be because of its hyper moisturizing texture, I find it a little hard to spread it evenly over my face. But that is also a good reason for me to massage the lotion onto my face and neck (massaging does helps to push the lotion around and helps the skin to absorb better).
Overall, KINERASE’s skincare range is enjoyable to use. It helps to regenerate skin conditions slowly and steadily, which I think it is pretty good to have healthier skin that way so that the effects are much more long-lasting (in my opinion).
