My first blogger event – Physiogel blogger party @ Grand Park Hotel!
HAHAHAHA! Thanks Ju Ann for inviting me! It’s an interesting event with nice finger food. :p
Damn cool! I even got a solo photo before I entered to the ballroom, though I look so awkward in the picture. Hahahahaha! Nice, actually I wanted to ask the photographers whether they want assistant or not because I had a feeling that I will be damn awkward in the room. LOL!

The finger food is nice... but I am still hungry.
Before the event even started, I was feeling so weird there without anyone that I can talk to there. Okay, fine. I admit I am fairly shy and awkward being myself, I should have talked to the other girls and act nice. LOL. But anyway, I have fun snapping pictures everywhere. Hey, it’s a way to reduce my awkwardness for not being more outgoing ok! *evil grins*
I am the most happy one to go get the food when the emcee gave the green light, because it means I get to eat high standard finger food and I don’t have to talk! XD *snap pictures of food before all of them go into my stomach* Then the event started… *phew*
Greeted by a long chain of medical information, which is really very useful for everyone, especially for those who have severe dry skin! It’s very important to moisturize your skin whenever you can, because you won’t want your skin-lipid barrier to crack and then reduce the effectiveness of absorption of moisture for your skin -> body. Severe dry skin sufferers (eg. Eczema) might not be even able to put on makeup!
Fun fact:
- 3 out of 4 person are reported dry skin, yet less than half know what to do to cure it.
- More than 15,000 cases of Eczema per year (in Singapore)
Myths of dry skin:
- Wet work (eg. fish market, divers etc.) will not cause dry skin.
- Children do not have dry skin.
- Drinking water (it’s important to replenish and hydrate the body but it only plays half the role in moisturizing).
- Cosmetic will not cause dry skin. (ie. Cosmetic is in fact harmful to our skin)
Now now… What’s Skin-Lipid Barrier?
There is three different layers in our skin and the outermost physical barrier, which is also the skin-lipid barrier, must be tough and yet flexible. It’s described as the “brick walls” of our skin to protect our skin from germs and environment; to prevent water loss from our body and thus essential for our survival.
Causes:
- Internal – genes (eg. atopic eczema, ichthyosis), medical conditions (eg. diabetes, kidney failure), age (decrease in skin thickness & function)
- External – environment (eg. air-conditioning, air travel, low humidity and etc.)
How do you know whether your skin-lipid barrier is damaged?
Symptoms on the skin that you might have serious dry skin problems:
- Irritation, pain, discomfort, sting
- Rough texture, scale, flake, wrinkles, cracks & fissures
If all these are left untreated, it will cause a fairly serious dry skin disease called Ezceme (you can google it).
Thus, everyone needs their ideal moisturizer! (Disclaimer: Due to the difference in everyone’s skin type, in order to find your ideal moisturizer, please buy products that is suitable for your skin while considering: your skin type, lifestyle and dryness.)
Important factors in a good moisturizer:
- Hydrate & restore – has occlusive agents to reduce water loss
- Deliver & retain moisture – absorb moisture and smoothen your skin
- Physiological – acts as the “cement” and builds back your skin-lipid barrier
So what’s Physiogel?
The makers of Physiogel – STIEFEL has 160 years of heritage and is one of the largest Derm companies. Patented with Derma Membrane Structure (DMS), Physiogel can repair, rehydrate, revitalize. The most important and most attractive about Physiogel is it contains no fragrance, preservatives or colorants to counter the hypoallergenic; being non-comedegenic (doesn’t cause acne). Physiogel is usually used and prescirbed by Dermatologists, thus I should it could be trusted.
After all the bombardment of all those information above, we have this game section where everyone went crazy and scream out the answers. Haha, I wish I was half enthusiastic as them. Blegh, I am so awkward!!! But in fact, I can’t really remember the answers nor the questions so I just kept quiet and snap photos. HAHAHAHAHA! :X
The staff there were even more high than I was. LOL. Superb! The whole atmosphere was brought up by them. Anyway, they were the ones who made all these happen.
By the way, I got a lot of freebies like moisturizer, sun cream, shampoo and so on. If anyone is interested to try, you can contact me at admin@lovelivfe.com with your name & address/telephone number to get it. Or another alternative to go Physiogel Singapore official website, under “Moisturize A Friend” to get a free travel pack! :)
